Kids Remote Terms of Use

Last updated 9 October 2026. These terms are for the household organisation game Kids Remote, operated from Queensland, Australia.

1. Who this is for

The household must be set up by a person 18 or over who is a parent or guardian of the children on the household. Children use a companion board. They never make purchases.

2. What the app is

Kids Remote is a household work-site game: jobs on the board, payday, streaks and Dollarbucks. Dollarbucks are play money. The app is not a bank, not a school, not medical or legal advice, and not a substitute for Apple Screen Time, Google Family Link or child-safety services.

3. Price and purchases

Kids Remote is free, and the app has no in-app purchases: every feature, including Web and Line, is included. There is no subscription: the Household Club subscription is not offered. Kids Remote never takes your card number in the app. If we ever offer an in-app purchase or a subscription, we will update these terms first and it will be billed through the App Store or Google Play.

Family merch (printed tees, caps, mugs and stickers) is sold separately, outside the app and the app stores, paid through Stripe, and covered by our Terms of Sale, Shipping & Returns. The merch shop is coming soon and isn't open yet. Prices are in Australian dollars.

3A. The Webz button and NextDNS

Web, Line and the Webz button work through your family's own NextDNS profile. Webz pauses the internet only on devices that use that profile: each child's phone once NextDNS is set up on it, and your home Wi-Fi only if you also set your router's DNS to that profile. It does not lock a phone, turn off your Wi-Fi or control anyone else's device. Phones on mobile data without NextDNS, and devices with their own DNS settings or a VPN, are not covered. It is a helpful tool, not a guarantee, and a parent still supervises the children.

3B. Keys you add

If you add an xAI or NextDNS key, you let us store it encrypted and use it only for your family's requests. You can remove it at any time.

4. Optional AI (xAI)

AI chat and voice are optional. A parent may attach their own API key from xAI. The key is stored encrypted on our server (Cloudflare) and used only to run the family's own AI. It is never sent to a kid's phone. Usage is billed by xAI to the parent’s account at their rates, not by Kids Remote. The in-app cap only pauses this app. Keep your xAI credit small, or set a limit in the xAI console as well. See the Privacy Policy for how chats are handled.

Kids Remote is not an xAI, X or Grok product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by those companies. Those names are used only to identify the third-party service that issues the key.

If AI is on, prompts, replies and (where used) voice transcripts or job-photo context may be sent to that service under the parent’s key and that service’s terms. AI output can be wrong. A parent still supervises the children.

5. Photos, voice and child profiles

You may add a child’s first name, age and job photos so a parent can approve work. Photos stay on the device that took them and are not uploaded to our server. You must only add children you have parental responsibility for. Do not use the app to monitor anyone without a lawful basis.

6. Acceptable use

Do not try to break the service, scrape other households, or use a child account to buy anything. We may suspend a household that is abused or that puts children at risk.

7. Liability

Australian Consumer Law guarantees still apply. Apart from those, Kids Remote is provided as a household game. We are not liable for how a family uses rewards, device settings or AI replies.
